What has 1400 legs and celebrates a New Year in the icy waters of Lake Ontario? For Oakville’s Courage brothers, what started as a lark (not the bird), on a challenge from their mother Gaye some 27 years ago, has grown from a laugh into Oakville’s unique Courage Polar Bear Dip.
Gary Pearson, or @CaptainPearson as he’s known to his many twitter followers, likes to hear audiences laugh. “Whether it’s in a live show, or whether I’m doing a television show, I like to come up with a clever joke that I think somebody’s going to laugh at, or a story that people are going to respond to… I feel like that’s what I’m supposed to do”, Gary tells us. And that’s precisely what he does as a ‘triple threat’ writer, television producer and actor.
Frank Zamuner’s 3rd annual Swim For Mental Health began its 3 day run on November 24th, at Oakville’s Appleby College pool. Local media was in attendance, and passionate volunteers from Sheridan College, OTMH, and area businesses assisted Frank and his family in getting into the swim of things.
For the past 20 years, patrons of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Foundation have had a ball supporting OTMH medical professionals, support staff and volunteers –- a Candlelight Ball.
