The 2018 RBC Canadian Open is underway and you won’t want to miss a single moment of the action!
Oakville’s very own Glen Abbey Golf Club has been selected again to host this year’s RBC Canadian Open and once again is heralded as the home of Canada’s National Men’s Open Golf Championship, marking the 30th time for Glen Abbey to play host to notable persons and players of the PGA Tour. The championship is currently on-going and will play-out from July 23 to July 29. If you have time, you’d be able to catch some of the action well into this weekend!

Laurence Applebaum, Golf Canada’s chief executive officer said that Glen Abbey remains to be one of the world’s best stadiums for showcasing golfing talent and is accessible to golf spectators and fans alike. He also shared that Golf Canada is still looking for a future permanent home.
RBC currently has a 6-year title-sponsor contract for RBC Heritage and the RBC Canadian Open which runs from 2018 to 2023 shared Mary DePaoli, chief marketing officer and executive vice president for RBC. She added that Glen Abbey is their chosen location because it is a favorite for the world’s top golfers.
To date, Glen Abbey has hosted 22 Canadian Opens from 1977 to year 2000 followed by a brief hiatus in hosting the tournament. Glen Abbey hosted the Canadian Open again in the years 2004, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 and in fact, the ground of Glen Abbey Golf Course is the home of Golf Canada’s head office and the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame Museum

History and Heritage
The Glen Abbey Golf Course is a heritage site that was designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus. The tournament is known for raising funds to support notable causes, including junior golf initiatives. 2018 marks the 4th consecutive year that the Canadian Gold Open is held at the Oakville golf course. Today, Oakville remains a golfer’s paradise.
