We’ve all seen the ads when looking for Oakville real estate (or any real estate in the Greater Toronto Area in particular) – exclusive community. Five different levels of penthouses (I’m pretty sure the Penthouse is the top one!), a personal dog walker, a top tier exercise lounge, this and that option that make you want to buy… but the real question you need to ask yourself (and your Oakville realtor – which should be us!) is this: is it an exclusive community or a reclusive community? Everyone has their own style when it comes to having the best experience in their condo or community, but sometimes things are not as they seem.
Protracted Legal Battles, Political Intrigue, Broken Trash Chutes
Let’s face it, anything can happen in a community. When you have 100 different people living side by side on 10 floors, especially in an area like the GTA, things can get a little weird. It’s no surprise that many people are opting to move to smaller communities like Oakville where the attitudes are more about sustainability than petty power struggles over the party planning committee. No one, well strike that, few of us want to live in a community or development that are run more like banana republics than communities. Don’t opt for a gilded cage when you always have a better option waiting out there for you.
What Makes a Community Exclusive?
The price tag is generally a good indicator of the exclusivity, but this isn’t the only thing you should let guide your decision. You’re going to want to look at other things like reputation, amenities, and most importantly attitude. Are you just another drone paying fees, or will this be somewhere you feel at home? While there are many different communities to choose from, they should at the very least make you feel welcome, and wanted. If you don’t get that vibe when you visit a place for the first time, don’t live there.
When you work with us we’ll help you find the home that’s right for you. Even if you’re not looking at a community (condo or no), it’s important to feel that connection with a place. Don’t buy it because the number is right or because someone else told you it’s the place to be.
What do You Want in a Home?
Where are you at in life? Are you just starting out, or are you rightsizing your life? How much trouble are you willing to handle to get that exclusive address? Do you have a plan of action when it comes to your next home? Most don’t, but that’s okay! When you work with us as your Oakville luxury realtor we’ll be there with you through every step in the process, helping you find the home and community that’s right for you. Everyone deserves a home, find the one that’s right for you today.
