Mark your calendars for the 20th of February, it’s going to be the 9th Make Your Move Family Day for the Town of Oakville!

The tradition continues as the Oakville Public Library, community partners, the YMCA of Oakville, and the entire Town join together to celebrate Oakville Family Day as presented by Genworth Canada.

A Full Day of Fun!

Special events and free activities for all ages and activities await everyone as more than 100 activities and events are planned for the entire day. You can even get an advance peek when you download the 2017 Family Day Brochure here.

Celebrate Canada’s Birthday!

The Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, Glen Abbey Community Centre, Oakville Museum, and Iroquois Ridge Community Centre have prepared special activities marked with a maple leaf to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.

Tale of the Town of Oakville

An interactive exhibit on the Tale of the Town of Oakville will be up from February 11 to 20 at the Main Gallery at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre for residents and visitors alike. The interactive exhibit will showcase a selection of 100 stories gathered last year from community stakeholders, independent business owners, neighbourhood residents, and local heroes. The stories narrate the collective community memory of the whole of Oakville one story at a time and aim to promote neighbourhood culture and preserve local heritage. The 10-day event is hosted by the Town of Oakville in partnership with Fix Point Productions. Admission is free.

Boston Pizza Dundas & Neyagawa Sponsors Free Swims and Skates

All free swims are subject to recreational swim admission standards. Everyone who would like to enjoy this can get wristbands for admission starting 8:30 a.m. at designated locations.

Activities On Ice Awaits!

Those who love on-ice activities can have a great time at River Oaks Community Centre and Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Helmet and skates will be available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Sing Along Tim & The Pacifiers

Kids ages 3 to 7 will have a rock show of their own with Sing Along Tim & The Pacifiers. Kids and the young at heart will surely enjoy their unique songs that come with catchy tunes, memorable words, and upbeat tempos. The group believes that everyone can have fun making music so they’ve arranged and adapted their compositions in such a way that will allow the audience to experience the joy of creating music together. Get ready to sing along and dance with Sing Along Tim & The Pacifiers!

Oakville Blades VS. Trenton Golden Hawks

A free admission game between Oakville Blades and Trenton Golden Hawks will surely make your day. Simply be around the Upper Concourse outside Rink 1 starting 9 a.m. to get your admission wristband for the first-come, first-serve play.

No One Goes Hungry!

There will be a variety of food options at select locations. Some providers have picked beneficiaries of their proceeds, such as Pepsico and Domino’s Pizza’s proceeds that will go to the Town of Oakville Recreation Connection Fund that helps those who are in need so they can participate in recreation programs.
